Florida Betony

A cold season perennial, belonging to the mint family. Commonly found in landscapes and like loose soil. It has a prominent underground tuber that is segmented and white, resembling the rattle of a rattle snake. It grows about 2’tall on a square hairy upright stem. Leaves are opposite, about 2” long and 1” wide, lance shaped, edges slightly toothed with a blunt point. Flowers are trumpet shaped and white to pink in color.
