Onion

Wild onions are easily identifiable by their round, hollow leaves that have a strong odor when crushed. They can grow 8-12 inches tall and typically grow faster than grass. They grow from an underground bulb that is usually white and flattened on one side. Wild Onion is a perennial weed that spreads by bulbs, bulblets, and seed. Wild onion can flower and go to seed if not mowed. In fact it is best to keep wild garlic mowed short to prevent seeding and to weaken the plant. Before applying a weed killer allow the wild onion to grow up in order to better accept the herbicide.
