Poison Hemlock

Poison Hemlock is a biennial species of plant that ranges in height from 1-10 feet tall. The leaves of the plant are distinct in that they look similar to a fern and have an alternate placement on the stem. The flowers of the plant are very small and grow in clusters called an umbel, which look similar to an umbrella. The plant blooms between the months of May to July. The stem of the plant has some of the plant’s most distinctive features by being smooth to the touch and have purple blotches covering the stem. As the name would suggest the plant in highly poisonous which can have be in fatal if ingested, and caution should be given around children and small pets.
