Puncture Vine

A summer annual that lays prostrate with many stems radiating out from a central crown. Leaves opposite and innately compound, with an even number of leaflets. Stems and leaves have silky hairs. Flowers are yellow with five petals. A small spiny bur forms as the flower falls off. The plant reproduces by seed or through broken or cut stems. Found primarily in the Southeastern United States.
