Strawberry

Wild Strawberry is a low trailing winter perennial that spreads by stolons. The leaves are similar to cultivated strawberries. The leaves are trifoliate (three leaflets) and have toothed margins and the petioles have numerous hairs. Wild strawberries bloom in April to June. The flowers are white (5 petals) with a yellow center. The fruit is a small strawberry with numerous small black seeds on the surface. They reproduce from both the seed and the runners. Wild strawberries are normally found in well drained soils.
