Vervain, Tall

Tall Vervain is an erect, slender-stemmed perennial branching occasionally in the upper half. Its stems are green or red, are four-angled and sometimes have white hairs. Leaves are opposite, have serrated edges, and are 6” long by 1” across. They are lance-shaped with obvious veins and have short petioles. It can grow to 6 ft. and spread to 3 ft. It produces spikes of purple flowers up to 5” long. It blooms from mid-summer until fall frost. Most commonly found in the southern U.S.
