Western Clematis

Western Clematis

Western Clematis is a woody, perennial vine found along streams and in wet environments. It grows best in full sun. It doesn’t drop its leaves until late into the fall. It produces white flowers from late June through August. The seed heads resemble tufts of goose down. Stems grow from the crown and can be numerous in favorable environments. Stems can reach lengths of 60’, but die back to about 10’ in the winter.
